Community Sign Submission Form

  1. Instructions

Forms must be submitted at least one week prior to the start of the desired posting date. A proof will be sent to you for your approval before announcements are posted. Announcements will be displayed on the Township's message board in front of Town Hall, at the corner of Fitch and Cook Roads. All community posts will be white letters on a black background. Any logos submitted must be in a pdf or jpeg format. There is no limit of characters, but more characters will mean smaller font.

Messages posted on the Olmsted Township Community Information Sign must be related to information, services, or events presented by non-profit organizations or public, cultural, or educational events that benefit Township residents. If an event takes place at a for-profit business or involves a fee, the organization must provide proof of non-profit tax status for the message to be considered for posting. Personal messages and requests from groups unable to verify non-profit status will be denied.

    Submission Guidelines:

    • Prohibited Content: Political statements supporting or opposing any party, individual, levy, or issue will not be accepted or displayed. Personal messages will not be accepted.
    • Submission Process: Requests must be submitted via a completed application form, either electronically via the Township website or email, or in print.
    • Display Duration: Announcements will be displayed for a maximum of seven consecutive days within a thirty-day period. Requests must be submitted at least one week in advance of the desired posting date.
    • Recurring Events: Organizations submitting recurring announcements (e.g., weekly meetings) may be limited to one post per calendar month to ensure fair access to the sign.
    • Message Formatting: Messages may be subject to character limits or formatting adjustments to fit within the sign’s display constraints.

    Approval and Posting:

To ensure visibility, a maximum of 5 messages will be displayed per cycle on the Community Information Sign. Messages will be posted on a first-come, first-served basis. Olmsted Township reserves the right to edit, reject, or remove any message at its sole discretion. Social media promotions will be considered personal messages unless submitted by a documented non-profit organization.

Olmsted Township is not obligated to notify organizations if a submission is denied. In the event of an emergency or other urgent situation, Olmsted Township may override community messages and use the Community Information Sign to provide critical communications to residents.
