Olmsted Township Fiscal Officer is an elected official and is independent of the Township Trustees, yet by law, the Township Fiscal Officer must work closely with the Trustees. The trustees have the legislative authority in the township, and the Fiscal Officer must keep an accurate record of all township accounts and transactions. The Fiscal Officer is responsible for keeping accurate records of the proceedings of the Trustees’ meetings, investments, and employee information, processing payroll and benefits; overseeing the township funds, and working with the trustees to see monies are spent wisely and in the best interest of the residents. The Fiscal Officer also prepares the annual budget and amends the budget when necessary along with recording and depositing all revenues.
